The University of Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs in collaboration with the University’s Eck Institute for Global Health (EIGH) invites applications for a faculty position in global health economics, with a preference for scholars whose research and teaching interests focus on the economic analysis of health policies and programs within developing countries.

Depending on the candidate’s specific qualifications and experience, the position will be either a tenure-line or a renewable term appointment as a professorship of the practice, rank open. The professor’s specific responsibilities will depend on the nature and rank of the appointment, but will include research, teaching and public practice components. Applicants for this position may come from any relevant field in global health and/or public policy provided that they have adequate training in economic analysis.

This faculty search is inspired by the need to enhance and expand Notre Dame’s research and teaching in the area of health economics. Since the Keough School and EIGH seek to reduce health disparities and address health challenges that affect the poor, candidates should have a strong emphasis in their research and teaching on these issues. While demonstrating excellence in research and teaching is critical to be considered for the position, scholars with direct experience working in health policy and program analysis with international organizations, governments or non-governmental organizations are encouraged to apply. Applicants should also have a strong interest in interdisciplinary cooperation.

The successful hire will be based in the Keough School (https://keough.nd.edu) with an affiliation with EIGH. The Keough School advances integral human development through research, policy and practice; transformative educational programs, and partnerships for global engagement. It promotes interdisciplinary research on critical issues in global affairs, offers a master’s degrees well as undergraduate and doctoral programs.

EIGH (https://globalhealth.nd.edu/) serves as a university-wide enterprise that recognizes health as a fundamental human right and works to promote research, training, and service to advance health standards and reduce health disparities for all. It brings together multidisciplinary teams to understand and address health challenges that disproportionately affect the poor and to train the next generation of global health leaders. EIGH offers a master’s degree and provides support for doctoral students, post-doctoral fellowships, and undergraduate programs.
