Develop predictive and analytic models of infectious disease

Successful candidates will join the Atlantic Coast Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics and Analytics (ACCIDDA) on a project aimed at developing software and analytic tools to perform disease modeling and critical analytics in response to infectious disease outbreaks. ACCIDDA is part of the newly formed CDC-funded national network of centers of excellence for outbreak analytics and disease modeling, named Insight Net. This position’s efforts will focus on developing predictive and analytic models of infectious disease and will use dynamic models and/or machine learning/artificial intelligence algorithms. Projects may also include work focused on the analysis of spatial and geographic data and work extrapolating results to different spatial scales. This position will collaborate with a network of scientists and public health practitioners to develop solutions to problems that have direct impacts on population health. Work with this center will provide numerous opportunities to work with other Insight Net centers and public health partners, as well as have a direct impact on the work of the CDC Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics.
