Available postdoc position in mathematical biology with Natalia Komarova and Dominik Wodarz at UC Irvine (komarova@uci.edu and dwodarz@uci.edu)

Position: A postdoc position in mathematical biology is available in the groups of Natalia Komarova and Dominik Wodarz at UC Irvine. The position will be in the Department of Mathematics, Public Health, or a joint appointment between the two. We are interested in a broad range of topics, including mathematical oncology, infection dynamics, evolutionary theory, and social / behavioral dynamics. In all areas of our research, we develop mathematical models in collaboration with experimental or clinical scientists in order to generate new hypotheses, interpret data, and make testable predictions.

Skills and education: We are looking for scientists with a background in mathematical modeling and computer programing, who are interested in the research areas listed above and who have a track record of publications. Knowledge of ordinary differential equations, stochastic processes, and agent-based models is desired. The successful candidate will hold a recent PhD degree in a relevant subject area, such as mathematical biology, applied mathematics, computer science or statistics.
