Arbovirus/viral hemorrhagic fever spatial epidemiology and modeling

The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants for a full-time Postdoctoral position. The candidate will join Dr. Seth Judson and the Translational Infectious Disease Eco-epidemiology (TIDE) lab, leading research projects focused on arbovirus epidemiology, risk prediction, and scenario modeling for local and international decision-makers. The primary project centers on developing risk maps for yellow fever and evaluating diagnostic and vaccination strategies in Africa and South America. Preferred qualifications: Experience in spatial epidemiology and mechanistic/statistical modeling of vector-borne diseases. Familiarity with advanced statistical modeling, mathematical modeling, and/or machine learning techniques. Proficiency in programming in R and/or Python. Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, lead publications, and mentor junior researchers. A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Ecology, or a related quantitative field is required.
