Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 494411), to commence as soon as possible on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in infectious disease epidemiology, data sciences, or a related discipline. They should have proven capacity in research, solid research experience in communicable and/or non-communicable disease modelling, and a track record of high-quality impactful research indicated by publication record and external grants. The appointee will work on mathematical and statistical modeling of a wide range of diseases such as influenza, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, HPV, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer and breast cancer. He/She will help supervise the junior research staff and students in the group; develop his/her own research programme; write scientific publications, grant proposals and reports; provide teaching support to postgraduate or undergraduate programmes; and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
