4-year position to develop UNAIDS HIV estimates and projections tools for sub-Saharan Africa (www.epidem.org), @Imperial_IDE, @MRC_Outbreak, @eatonjw
We are seeking a Research Assistant or Associate for a 4-year project to improve HIV epidemic estimates and projections tools in sub-Saharan Africa.
The position will lead core development of mathematical and statistical models supported by UNAIDS for estimating and projecting HIV incidence trends in sub-Saharan Africa, with particular focus on modelling health service delivery data and incorporating heterogeneous HIV transmission dynamics across population risk groups.
The post-holder will collaborate closely with an international network of researchers in the UNAIDS Reference Group (www.epidem.org), and it is anticipated that project outcomes will be directly implemented into tools used for official HIV estimates and policy by national governments, and other related partners such as UNAIDS, PEPFAR, Global Fund, WHO, and the Global Burden of Disease study.
For interested applicants at the Research Assistant level, support is potentially available for pursuing a PhD through project activities alongside staff responsibilities.
Interested candidates are encouraged to please be in touch with Dr Jeff Eaton (jeffrey.eaton@imperial.ac.uk).
