Tasks
Scientific research activity in the field of Artificial Intelligence for Public Health, in particular:

Independent work on exciting research projects at the interface of AI, climate research and planetary health:

AI-based method development and application in the field of "Climate and Societal Analytics" at ZKI-PH.
Interdepartmental collaboration with colleagues at the Robert Koch Institute and international partners in researching climatedriven
disease dynamics with artificial intelligence methods:

Analysis of future climate scenarios with regard to health-relevant risk assessment
Analysis of epidemics and dynamics models of infectious diseases
Machine learning-based causal inference with regard to climate conditions and changes
Data management, data linkage, algorithm/method development, and quality assurance of this work
Participation in the supervision of master's students
Preparation of scientific reports and publications

Preparation of project and research reports
Publication of research results in national and international journals
Presentation of research results at national and international congresses
Your profile
Educational requirements

Completed scientific university studies (e.g., university diploma, master's degree) in the field of data science, machine learning, Epidemiological modelling, or a related field.
For foreign educational qualifications, we require proof of equivalence with a German degree.

Required skills and experience

Proven study or research experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Data Science in
the application field of the ZKI-PH
in quantitative data analysis and practical experience in dealing with complex data bodies
in common programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python and R)
Desirable skills and experience:

Knowledge or experience in public health research
Experience in presenting complex (scientific) topics in a comprehensible way
Initial experience in scientific presentation of research results
List of publications and list of previous/ongoing externally funded projects with funding details
Further requirements

Language skills (CEFR-Level): English at least C1, German at least A2 or the willingness to acquire further German skills as soon as possible in order to be able to communicate effectively in the work environment (German courses are offered)
