2 year postdoc position on viral dynamic models in the context of emerging infections and novel therapeutic strategies

The 2-year position will take place in the modeling group led by Jeremie Guedj (https://www.iame-research.center/eq4/research-interests/), which is part of a larger INSERM (the French National Institute of Health and Medical research) unit center devoted to infectious diseases and modeling.
The successful candidate will be involved in developing mathematical models for studying viral and immune dynamics in human and animal data in response to emerging infections, in particular Monkeypox and Sars-CoV-2, but also hemorrhagic fever viruses. He/She will investigate new immune biomarkers, analyse the efficacy of new pharmacological interventions on disease progression. He will also integrate novel developments on multiscale models to integrate within-host dynamics, treatment and infectiousness. The position will involve close collaborations with virologists, clinicians, industry and other modeling groups.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in applied mathematics or statistics, significant computational/programming skills (e.g. R, C/C++) and strong interest in biomedical sciences and public health. Experience in working with experimental or clinical data and parameter estimation is desirable.
The position will be paid according to the INSERM salary guidelines. The position is available in January 2023, but flexibility on the starting date is possible. Applicants should send a cover letter stating their interest of research and their previous work, a detailed CV and contact information for two or three academic references to jeremie.guedj@inserm.fr.
