Global.health is an international, open-source technology platform enabling rapid access to timely high-resolution information on infectious diseases and other 21st century threats. The platform has members of academic institutions (Harvard, Stellenbosch University, Georgetown University), industry partners (Google.org, Mapbox), and non-governmental institutions (Pandemic Prevention Institute, Rockefeller Foundation).
The platform’s technology is fully open-source, distributed and focused on integrating the most cutting edge hardware with rigorous data pipelines. Global.health is completely cloud-hosted, combining a microservices architecture implemented with Typescript, node.js and Kubernetes; ingestion and data quality pipelines using a Python serverless approach; and a browser-based UI built using React and Typescript. The platform’s functions are to enable the synthesis, automation, and federated analytics of highly complex individual level data during epidemics. Our team is committed to training the next generation public health engineers around the world.
This role is to increase the capabilities of Global.health with partner organisations and facilitate integration with downstream analytical pipelines to respond to emerging infectious diseases globally.
