Scientific staff member/Research associate in health and economic modelling (all genders)
RKI is the statutory public health institute of Germany. The Vaccination Modelling team in the Immunization Unit conducts epidemiological modelling, healthcare services research, health economic evaluations, primary data collections and analyses.
For the new project ‘HELoCO’ funded by the Federal Ministry of Health to investigate the effectiveness and efficiency of vaccination against (i) Long COVID/post-COVID condition (PCC) and (ii) Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) for individuals and society in Germany through an integrated micro- and macroeconomic modelling framework, we are looking for support with the following tasks:
- Develop and calibrate (validate) the mechanistic economic models for COVID-19 and Long COVID/PCC as well as for investigating the effects of interventions (vaccines, non-pharmaceutical interventions) in Germany
- Applying and calibrating (validating) the economic modelling to (pandemic) influenza and ME/CFS, and integrating the economic modelling with other project results like the epidemiological modelling
- Conduct searches to generate the input data of the models
- Working closely together with colleagues to support the development and quality assurance of other analyses within the project
- Present and discuss the project results at national and international conferences, and publishing them in scientific journals
Your profile:
- completed degree (Master or equivalent) in health economics, economics, econometrics or a comparable quantitative subject
- Doctorate (PhD or equivalent) is of advantage
- Skills and experience in developing model-based analyses
- Skills and experience in fitting/calibrating models to the status quo and interventions, e.g. of diseases and vaccination
