PostDoc/scientific programmer for a project on infectious disease modelling with focus on health inequalities

We are looking for an enthusiastic modeller or scientific programmer interested in developing and extending mathematical models for COVID-19 and other respiratory infections. The position is part of the project “EQUalS: Mathematical modelling to inform an EQUitable and effective response to EpidemicS”, funded by the The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development (ZonMw), and it is based at Radboudumc.

The project focuses on the development and use of advanced statistical and mathematical models to provide a better understanding of inequalities in COVID-19 burden in relation to socio-economic inequalities, at different spatial scales in the Netherlands. Models will be calibrated and enriched with the integration of multiple data sources. The impact of non-pharmaceutical interventions on different measures of COVID-19 burden inequalities will be investigated and simulated with the aim of proposing a framework towards the design of control strategies that are both effective and equitable. This project is a collaboration between a multidisciplinary team at the Radboudumc (Dr. Federica Giardina, Prof. Heiman Wertheim, Dr. Alma Tostmann, Prof. Rob Baltussen, Prof. Marijn de Bruin, Prof. Maria von de Muijsenbergh and Prof. Aura Timen), the RIVM (Dr. Jantien Backer and Dr. Ellen Uiters) and the Dutch centre of expertise on Health disparities (Pharos).
