Post-doc on epi analysis and modelling of vaccine-derived polioviruses

We are seeking an excellent researcher to work on the epidemiology of poliovirus, including analysis of global environmental and acute flaccid paralysis surveillance data maintained by the WHO. The post is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and focuses on the epidemiology of vaccine-derived polioviruses in Africa and Asia and the impact of improved surveillance and new vaccines.

You will work closely with the polio team in the Vaccine Epidemiology Research Group and have access to excellent peer support from with other members of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis. You will also communicate and meet with task teams from the GPEI and with staff at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The post would be especially suited to someone with experience in epidemiological of infectious disease data but we will also consider applications from enthusiastic individuals with appropriate mathematical, statistical or bioinformatics skills
