Position in dairy cattle quantitative veterinary epidemiology

We invite applications for an 18 month postdoctoral research fellowship in quantitative veterinary epidemiology at BIOEPAR in Nantes, France (https://www6.angers-nantes.inra.fr/bioepar_eng/). The project will be conducted in collaboration with University College Dublin, Ireland (http://www.ucd.ie/cvera/).

The aim of the project is to develop syndromic surveillance methods for the detection of cattle infectious diseases that spread through animal movements. The recruited researcher will work with data collected as part of a large regional bovine viral diarrhoea surveillance programme and will have access to census and production data.

Candidates should have a PhD in quantitative veterinary epidemiology, a good understanding of the organisation of the dairy industry, a good knowledge of the epidemiology of the major cattle infectious diseases, and be able to manage and analyse large volumes of data.
