Create new analyses to examine the value of disease elimination.

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to join the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, in the School of Public Health at Imperial College London working with Dr Hugo Turner, Professor Tim Hallett, and Dr Tara Mangal.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally renowned team specializing the evaluation of the impact of public health interventions.

This work is funded by the Global Institute for Disease Elimination (GLIDE) and supported by the Global Health team within the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York.

You will participate in research conducting analyses that examine the value of disease elimination in the context of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).

This will involve supporting the construction of a theoretical framework that can be used to investigate how the potential value of NTD elimination is linked to key characteristics (such as the clinical and epidemiologic features of the disease, and the level of resources required to achieve elimination etc). This will be used to inform stakeholders regarding when elimination could be considered a good value, considering the different features of the various NTDs for which it is being considered.

The post-holder will write one or more papers describing their findings and seek publication for them in leading scientific and medical journals, adhering to best practises for open-access publishing and reproducible research.
