Applications are invited for postdoctoral work on an NIH-funded project on spatio-temporal modeling of childhood diseases and vaccine refusal behavior in the United States. This position will be based in the group of Shweta Bansal (http://bansallab.com) at Georgetown University or the group of Pej Rohani (http://rohanilab.ecology.uga.edu/) at the University of Georgia.

Successful applicants will develop mathematical and statistical models using highly-resolved disease and behavior data to infer behavioral processes and model transmission. The ideal candidate has a PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, EEB or another highly quantitative field, with previous experience in spatial modeling and epidemiology of childhood diseases highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of publication; have strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills; and be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Initial appointments will be for one year, with possible renewal up to two additional years depending on progress. The salary will be in the range of $48,000-54,000 per year (depending on experience), plus fringe benefits.

Candidates from underrepresented minority groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
