3 fully funded PhD positions at LKCMed: Understanding the impact of climate change on infectious and chronic disease health burdens in Southeast Asia

Description
The successful PhD candidates will be tasked to conduct the first baseline studies on the health and economic impacts of climate change on endemic and emerging mosquito-borne diseases, as well as other chronic health outcomes in Singapore and more broadly, Southeast Asia. This project will be led jointly by the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMed), Nanyang Technological University and the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), National University of Singapore, with close collaboration from the National Environment Agency, National Parks Board and Ministry of Health, Singapore. These projects will offer a multidisciplinary and unique collaborative environment with diverse learning opportunities.

Program and Place of Work
This project will support 3 graduate students (PhD level) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University. The graduate students will be based at Clinical Sciences Building, LKCMed, Nanyang Technological University, with possibility of temporary placement with various project partners. The successful applicant(s) will work as part of a growing and energetic team investigating health at the interface of environment, climate change and diseases in local and international contexts.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a BSc/MSc degree in a quantitative field, such as data science, computational biology, mathematics, computer science, statistics, or related field. The candidate should have strong quantitative skills, or at least demonstrate interest in developing skills in statistics and infectious disease modelling.

Funding
Support 3 positions fully funded for 4 years, with monthly stipend, tuition fees, equipment and conference funding.

Start Date
