Research projects might consider: hybrid approaches (combining mechanistic models and neural networks) to estimate the true number of infections; infectious disease models and software to support health equity; modelling and estimation to determine the risk of establishment; or related, mutually agreed upon, topics. All projects are to be data-driven, and prospective students should be interested in developing, implementing, and analyzing models.
