Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join an interdisciplinary team advancing integrated serosurveillance in Bangladesh. The Fellow will play a central role in the advancement of seroanalytic tools for analyzing multiplex serological data and policy-relevant analytics to support the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) and the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) in developing a sustainable national serosurveillance platform. The Fellow will have the choice to be based in either Geneva, Switzerland at the University of Geneva with Andrew Azman or in Baltimore, Maryland at Johns Hopkins University with Sonia Hegde.
The role offers a unique opportunity to apply seroepidemiological modeling and geospatial analytics to directly inform national public health policy, vaccine introduction, and disease control strategies for a variety of pathogens. The Fellow will also have opportunities for publication and engagement with multilateral organizations and research groups working in the field of seroepidemiology.
Qualifications
Required
• PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Infectious Disease Modeling, Computational Science, Population Health, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in quantitative data analysis (e.g., R, Stan).
• Strong understanding of seroepidemiology, immunoassays, or infectious disease dynamics.
• Proven ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical results for policy audiences.
Preferred
• Experience with Luminex MBA or other multiplex immunoassays.
• Background in geospatial analysis (R spatial packages, INLA, etc.).
• Knowledge of Bayesian hierarchical modeling or seroincidence estimation methods.
• Prior work experience in global health, LMIC settings, or government engagement.
